"Salad days" is an idiomatic expression, referring to a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person. More modern use refers to a person's heyday when somebody was at the peak of his/her abilities—not necessarily in that person's youth. Let's just say, we are in our heyday!!

We have a date!
Just a quick note to let you all know that we have a date... Novemeber 2nd is when Cadence's surgery is scheduled. We are happy that she will get to have her first Halloween and hopefully be recovered (mostly) by Thanksgiving. Probably no turkey for her, but mashed potatoes will do! Besides having her cleft lip and palate repaired she will also have ear tubes placed, dental work done, and the "skin tag" on her neck removed. Interestingly, it's not just a skin tag... it's actually the same type of tissue that forms the ear (cartilage and all!). It should be just as easy to remove though. More details later!

Good luck Cadence ~ We'll be sending good thoughts your way! They are doing a lot of work all in one trip, but thankfully much of it will then be behind you! And, just remember, you can always grind up anything you all are eating so she actually could even have her Thanksgiving turkey too :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Cadence and to all of you!!
